Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurce are the following:

  • taking vital signs
  • preparing and administering injections and enemas
  • applying dressing and bandages
  • watching catheters
  • treating bedsores
  • providing alcohol massages and rubs
  • monitoring patients and reporting changes
  • collecting sample for testing
  • monitoring food and liquid input and output

Tenured LPNs may supervise nursing aides and assistants.


Responsibilities of Registered Nurse may include everything described under LPN and also following:

  • conduct and submit a physical examination
  • physical assesment
  • mental status
  • performes diagnostic tests and analyzes results
  • operates medical machinery
  • administer treatment and meddications
  • helps with follow-up and rehabilitation

RN is also performs role of suppervisor over LPN and Home Health Aide within organization and on the field.
